Launched in 2006 by Ross Borden and Ben Polansky as a social network for travelers, Matador Network is a media company and content creation studio. Matador has been ranked by Skift as one of the top 25 consumer travel media sites in the world and "the most successful media brand on social media [in the travel industry]."
In addition to the English site Matadornetwork.com, Matador publishes content in Spanish and Portuguese, and has recently developed a full production house for branded content.

MatadorU
In 2009 Matador Network started MatadorU, an online school for travel journalism. MatadorU offers course in travel writing, travel photography, and travel filmmaking. In 2010, Matador Network acquired Glimpse from National Geographic.
