Travel Insurance Direct (TID) is an Australian travel insurance company headquartered in Sydney, Australia for Australian and New Zealand residents travelling domestically or internationally. Its policies are arranged and managed by Cerberus and underwritten by certain underwriters at Lloyd's of London. TID was established in 2005 and is a part of the World Nomads Group, a network of companies including World Nomads that supply and service customers with travel services.

Operations
TID runs all its operations from the World Nomads Group office, located in Sydney. In 2015, World Nomads Group was acquired by private health insurer nib for $95 million. Along with travel insurance, TID also provide travellers with a unique travel app called Tripwise which allows travellers to access policy information, safety advice, travel guides and phrasebooks, from their mobile phone.

Social awareness
TID is also a member of The Footprints Network, a charity aggregator which provides online merchants with an easy way for customers to donate to local and international charities. Through The Footprints Network and donations made by TID customers, TID works closely with The Fred Hollows Foundation to help people to see the world. improve the health outcomes of people in Australia and around the world. In 2014, TID sponsored a group of 20 students from Sydney's Mosman High School to travel to Cambodia to work with charity organisation Tabitha Cambodia as a part of their high school graduation celebrations. With TID's support, the students raised $50,000 and were able to help rebuild 32 homes in the Kampong Chhang Province.

TID won the CANSTAR award for 5-star Outstanding Value Car Insurance in 2014 as well as being voted a People's Favourite in the 2015 MOZO People's Choice Awards. TID won the Best Creative Execution in the Outdoor Media Association 2014 Quarter 4 awards for the unique bus wrap which featured in their 2014 'Just a TID' advertising campaign.

TID is often used by Australian publishers including News.com.au, Sydney Morning Herald Traveller and The Australian as a resource for travel related reporting. TID's travel safety experts have also appeared on Australian TV programs, The Today Show and 7 News Sydney.

In 2014, TID partnered with creative agency AJF Partnership Sydney to introduce a new advertising campaign that aimed to make the brand more memorable through using the acronym 'TID'. Using the slogan 'For when things go just a TID wrong', the campaign highlighted TID's role when people have the need for travel insurance. The campaign featured a range of digital advertising, and outdoor media, including a bus wrap that highlighted how precarious it can be to catch public transport in foreign countries. The campaign media was bought and placed by media agency, Hyland Media.
